25th Annual Frontiers: Poster presentation by Stephen Stanio
Stephen Stanio (MCB, UConn Class of 2022) presented his project about the mutagenicity of the oxidative lesion 8-oxodG during the 25th annual Frontiers: Undergraduate research poster exhibition (April 9, 2022).
ACS Fall 2021: Poster presentation by Henric
Henric presented a poster with the title “Sequence context effects of replication of Fapy•dG in three mutational hot spot sequences of the p53 gene in human cells” during the ACS Fall 2021 conference in Atlanta, Georgia (August 2021).

Congratulations Henric!
August 2021 – Henric received ACS Division of Chemical Toxicology Graduate Student Travel Award.
He received a TOXI travel grant of up to $750 to aid in his attendance and presentation at the ACS 2021 National Meeting which was funded by a grant from the NIH NIEHS, award number R13ES033526.
Congratulations Stephen for receiving the 2021 SURF Award!
Stephen Stanio (MCB, UConn Class of 2022) is one of the 56 undergraduates who received the Summer Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF) award for Summer 2021. The recipients are selected from an exceptionally strong group of applicants representing diverse areas of academic inquiry. Each student will receive a $4,000 stipend as a student researcher and up to $500 for consumables associated with the research project. Stephen will be working on his research with the title “The mutagenic and toxic effects of Formamidopyrimidine” starting this summer.
