The tools we use for our work

Organic Synthesis
To synthesize the activated carcinogen/mutagens as well as DNA damages induced by various agents.

Physical & analytical tools
To characterize the damaged nucleosides and DNA fragments, to purify them, and also to investigate what kind of effects the damaged nucleoside will have on the DNA structure.

In vitro studies
Repair and replication studies of these damages in vitro using purified repair and replication proteins.

Cellular studies
Construction of plasmid or viral vectors containing a site-specific DNA damage followed by their replication in cells or cellular extracts. Investigation of the effect of the DNA damage in a cellular environment and their relationship with various repair systems and DNA polymerases.
